City of České Budějovice
České Budějovice was established by the Czech King Přemysl Otakar II in 1265. The biggest tourist attractions are concentrated in the urban conservation area of the historic center (Piaristické Square, the adjacent Dominican monastery with the Sacrifice of the Virgin Mary church, the Přemysl Otakar II Square with the Samson fountain and the Town Hall, the Black Tower, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, etc.).
